I am a MD thesis student in the lab. I began studying medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in 2022 and joined the lab by the end of 2025. My main goal is to translate inflammatory pathways derived from single-cell sequencing studies to fluid biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, I combine omics analyses of postmortem brains and body fluids with cross-sectional and longitudinal statistical models.
I am a Clinician Scientist in our lab and the department of psychiatry, UKE. I studied medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and have been working in the psychiatry department since 2024. My main interest lays in uncovering neuroglia communication, for example by extracellular vesicles. To this end, I use bioinformatics to integrate clinical and omics data as well as experimental models to investigate molecular mechanisms of cellular communication.
I am the principal investigator of the TND lab, a Clinician Scientist in the department of neurology, University Hospital Bonn, an associated researcher at the Translational Neuroimaging Laboratory, McGill Research Center for Studies in Aging, and an adjunct professor at the department of neurology and neurosurgery, McGill University. The lab was previously located at the UKE in Hamburg, Germany. Our goal is to understand how inflammation, cell death and co-pathologies contribute to Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis by investigating the molecular mechanisms and identifying biomarkers for individualised treatments in the future. We have close national and international collaborations and want to encourage a dynamic, collaborative, transparent and open research environment.
